Lucinda Dickens Hawksley, the great-great-great-granddaughter of Charles Dickens, presents a fascinating talk about her famous forebear.

It is now over 200 years since Charles Dickens was born, and Lucinda will reveal many before unheard details of a man whose writings are as relevant today as they were in the Victorian times.

The Dickensian characters are as much part of our lives, to the adaptations for screen, as due to his novels.

Lucinda is an award-winning travel writer. Her non-fiction work also includes 50 British Artists, Lizzie Siddal and (in 2011) Charles Dickens. It is no surprise to learn that she is patron of the Charles Dickens Museum.

It is clear from her writing that Lucinda has a special empathy with her eminent forebear.
