BIOGRAPHY AND BACKGROUND

Mervyn spent 25 years as a ‘fireman’ journalist at the sharpest end of Fleet Street yet it is the secret stories behind the headlines he delights in describing with wicked humour and deadly revealing candour.

His limitless fund of anecdotes and escapades is born of a career covering every imaginable major news event for a succession of national dailies, glossy magazines and TV and radio.

A natural performer, he amusingly brings to life the exotic, larger than life characters who populate the world of the media and whose crazy, jaw dropping exploits are only ever talked about between fellow journalists in the pub but never in public or print.

His landscape is wide ranging  -- from the Northern Ireland Troubles to a Kray Twin wedding, taking in high profile murders, showbiz scandals, political intrigues and no shortage of villainy, disaster and intrigue.

Nobody talks so compellingly about Fleet St and the media. It is a rare insider perspective on a world into which few are allowed to glimpse, let alone examine too closely.
